It can be challenging to find internship opportunities at non-profits, social enterprises and government agencies, and many of the positions that are available aren't funded. That's one of the reasons the CareeLAB's BrownConnect LINK program provides students with the opportunity to apply for funding for low-paid and unpaid internships.
In addition, CareerLAB's CCG project works with BrownConnect to organize Signature Internship Programs that provide Brown students with paid postions at organizations making a social impact.
The Careers in the Common Good Summer in New York City (CCG in NYC) and Washington, D.C (CCG in D.C.) programs provide 20 students in New York and 8 students in Washington, D.C. with $4,000 for a summer internship at non-profits, government organizations, and social ventures.
The Swearer Center for Public Service and the CareerLAB work together to support iProv, which provides 20 Brown students with $3,500 for a summer internship at non-profits and government agencies in Rhode Island.
Careers in the Common Good Winternships are two-week internship opportunities to work on engaging projects during winter break within social enterprise, government, and nonprofit organizations in Boston, Washington, D.C., New York, and San Francisco. The CCG Winternships program is a project of the Swearer Center and the CareerLAB.
