Get to know Laura...
First Job Out of College: My educational path was non-traditional. After a year of nursing school I decided it was not the career for me. So I accepted a job at Johnson & Johnson as a Titanium Surgical Instrument Maker and eventually took advantage of their tuition reimbursement plan, pursuing my undergraduate degree in business administration as a continuing education student while working full-time and raising a family.
Most interesting Job: Being a surgical instrument maker taught me to work with my hands and build fine instruments from rough materials using blueprints and many tools and processes. The creativity was quite satisfying and I developed a deep appreciation for engineering, logistics, and industry.
