ADHD Support Group

The group provides members with an opportunity to talk with other students about personal challenges of coping with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Group sessions will provide information designed to connect you with resources and address ways to make learning and living with ADHD easier.

This group offers an opportunity for students to share their concerns and triumphs as they adjust to their first 2 semesters post leave. The group is flexibly structured and open to the issues that students are encountering in a particular week, but will also include some discussion about skill building strategies and other resources on campus. In the past students have described the group as a place they feel they can be authentic and are understood without being judged.

International Student Support Group
Fridays, 3:00-4:00pm

The group is a safe and nonjudgmental space for international students to address and explore common issues faced including: homesickness, adjusting to life in the U.S., adjusting to the U.S. educational system, language and cultural barriers, and building a social support network.



Life on the Hyphen

This group is a four part discussion group for Asian-American undergraduate students to explore how bias, different expectations, and cultural conflicts impact family and social relating, self-concept, and emotional health. Group will be facilitated by Asian-American psychotherapists Heather Wong-Bailey, Aleta Bok Johnson and Diane Farber.


Non-Binary, Genderqueer, and Trans Identifying Student Support Group

This group is designed to be a safe and confidential space to talk, explore, support, challenge, and just be present in your gender identity without having to explain/education/fear judgment. Group will be a place to express yourself at present and to engage with others in the spirit of openness and connection. Group is limited to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students currently enrolled at Brown.


Don't Panic: A Primer

Mondays, 2:00-3:00pm 
3 weeks (10/16/1710/23/1710/30/17)

Panic disorder is an over-reaction by the Central Nervous System to conscious or subconscious threats, or changes in activity or respiration. This three week primer will change your life by helping you exert control over symptoms that often seem out of control. Evidence-based strategies from CBT and ACT, along with information that will disarm your anxiety will be the focus for this popular group.
