ADHD Support Group

This group provides members with an opportunity to talk with other students about personal challenges of coping with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Group sessions will provide information designed to connect you with resources and address ways to make learning and living with ADHD easier.

This group is designed to be a safe and confidential space to talk, explore, support, challenge, and just be present in your gender identity without having to explain/educate/fear judgment. Group will be a place to express yourself at present and to engage with others in the spirit of openness and connection. Group is limited to undergraduate, graduate, and medical students currently enrolled at Brown.

Depression Support Group

This is a semester long group for students to meet with peers who identify with experiencing depressive symptoms, and share how their lives have been impacted. It is a compassionate and confidential environment where students can receive support and learn skills to help manage depressive feelings.

Managing Overwhelming Feelings

Are you experiencing feelings that are difficult to manage? Do you seek new ways to deal with stress? Are you seeking more fulfilling relationships? This group is a six week program that teaches life skills in managing distress, establishing balance, and navigating complicated relationships. Feel free to bring lunch!

Transitions Group

This is a support group for students who are negotiating a challenging transition. This may include students returning from leave for medical, psychological or academic reasons, as well as students who have recently transferred to Brown. This group offers an opportunity for students to share their concerns and triumphs as they adjust. The group is flexibly structured and open to the issues that students encounter in a particular week, and will also include discussion of skill building strategies and campus resources. In the past students have described the group as a place they feel they can be authentic, and are understood without being judged.

Build Your Social Confidence

A structured group designed to teach strategies to increase social confidence. Group members will learn to challenge thoughts that might be leading them to avoid social situations. They'll also learn new ways to interact and have a chance to practice new behaviors in a safe environment.

Meditation and Mental Health

In this group we'll practice mindfulness meditation with a focus each week on the basic principles which contribute to mental well being. Students are welcome to attend each meeting or drop-in when their schedule allows.
