Campus Emergency Notification System

Brown has an emergency notification system that allows the University to communicate quickly and effectively with students in the event of an emergency.  The BrownAlert system is a web-based notification service that sends immediate and simultaneous communications via phone, text message, and email. All 863 and 867 exchange landline phone numbers and all University-owned cell phone numbers are automatically loaded into the system and can be utilized in the event of an emergency notification.

Students are strongly urged to provide their personal cell phone and home or off-campus housing telephone numbers so that we can contact them as quickly as possible in the event of an emergency. Cell phone numbers are especially important because they provide the fastest and most effective way for users to receive information. Cell phone numbers provided by students will be used for emergency notification and official University business only.

Students may add, update, or change their emergency contact phone numbers in Banner using their secure log-in.
