Brown Graduate Resources for Improving Professional Structures (B-GRIPS) is a university-wide initiative that provides peer resources for master's and doctoral students. It utilizes best practices developed by members of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Resources for Easing Friction & Stress program, while taking into account Brown University's unique culture and climate.

B-GRIPS is co-sponsored by the Graduate School and the Office of Campus Life, with support from the Ombudsperson. It aims to:

  1. Provide a peer-based, low-barrier resource for all graduate students that helps them problem solve and identify resources and options;
  2. Collect non-identifying information about experiences and concerns that are brought forward by graduate students and compile them into a publicly available annual report; and
  3. Provide programming to inform graduate students about B-GRIPS and provide access to additional wellness resources.
