Kevin Moss, Chair of the Department of Russian at Middlebury College, will discuss "anti-gay propaganda" in Russia and other pressing issues facing Russian LGBTQ people.

Kyle Trenshaw, the STEM Education Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brown University's Science Center, will discuss LGTBQ+ issues in STEM and navigating pregnany while trans.

Jamal Lewis, writer and director of the film No Fats, No Femmes, will discuss the ways media and pop culture shape our understandings of desirability politics, race, gender, size, class, ability, and queerness.

Elena Shih, Assistant Professor of American Studies and Ethnic Studies at Brown, will discuss the ways gender and sexuality figure into transnational social movements such as anti-trafficking savior complex.

Tracy Bergeron, Brown's nutritionist, will discuss eating in LGBTQ communities. This facilitated conversation will offere students space to talk about how our identities impact eating, and educate students about campus resources related to nutrition and eating.

Staceyann Chin--spoken word poet, performing artist, and LGBTQ activist--will discuss race, identity, and Black queer motherhood, as well as how she reconciles a career in the arts with her personal life. 


The LGBTQ Center hosts bi-monthly discussions on topics that intersect with issues of gender, sexuality, and identity. If you'd like to discuss your scholarship, a community-based initiative, and/or a creative project, we'd love for you to share what's on your mind!
