Gender Inclusive Restrooms

Bathrooms & Locker Rooms

Brown supports all people in using the bathroom and locker room that aligns with their gender identity.  For anyone who would like to use a gender-inclusive restroom, we have many on campus (see below) and we are working to provide more in buildings that do not yet have them available.  We are actively in process of working with facilities in identifying areas that need gender-inclusive bathrooms and we are adding them as quickly as we are able.  For an update about any particular area or building please contact Kelly_Garrett@brown.edu.

When Brown builds a new building or does a major building renovation we have a standard practice of including or adding a gender-inclusive restroom.  With renovations what we are able to add will depend on the scope of the renovation, but we add one whenever possible.   The information listed below is for academic and administrative buildings.  The Residence Hall restroom designations sometimes change so if you would like to make sure you live near a gender-inclusive restroom you can let the Office of Residential Life know when you register for housing.

This list is constantly being updated.  If you find an error please report it to Kelly Garrett at Kelly_Garrett@brown.edu. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact the LGBTQ Center at 863-3062.
