What/when were you at Brown?

Undergraduate. 1989-1993.

What do you do now? Provide a brief description of what you do for a living and what drives you professionally.

I founded a consultancy focused on neuroscience-related initiatives in the for-profit and non-profit sectors (Foundations, biotechs, and investment funds).

How did your experience at Brown (in the lab, in the classroom, and in the Brown community) prepare you for what you do today?

I came to Brown because I wanted to study neuroscience, and even back in the 1980's Brown had one of biggest and best neuroscience programs in the country, where undergraduates could perform research. I was able to explore many areas of neuroscience throughout my time at Brown, both through my coursework and my lab experience, which prepared me well for my doctoral program in neuroscience at Washington University in St. Louis and enabled me to obtain a Howard Hughes Predoctoral Fellowship. My experiences at Brown taught me not only exciting new things about the brain but also how to ask and answer scientifically rigorous questions with confidence. This strong scientific foundation underpins everything I do now in my consulting work.
