Nia Callender (she/her/Ella) is a 5th-year master’s student in the Urban Education Policy program, graduating in 2024. In May 2023, she completed her undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LACA). Last year, she served as one of the undergraduate (DUG) leaders for the LACA concentration. Beyond academics, Nia is very active in the Latin dance scene at Brown, currently acting as Co-Dance Director for Mezcla Latin Dance and serving as the Co-President and bachata instructor for Brown Salsa Club. Nia's passion lies in bridging multilingual and international educational perspectives. She aspires to connect her rich experiences as a LACA concentrator with her ongoing studies in the realm of education policy.
