For members of the M.D. Class of 2019 and their family members—this event is both a gallery/showcase of work by graduating medical students, as well as a breakfast/ceremony.

2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Annual Student Awards Ceremony and Reception
Warren Alpert Medical School, 222 Richmond Street, Lecture Hall 170
This ceremony honors senior medical students receiving student awards. A reception will follow in the Atrium area. This event is by invitation only.

Medical School Ceremony Rehearsal
First Unitarian Church, corner of Benefit and Benevolent streets
All candidates for a medical degree MUST attend the medical school ceremony rehearsal.

6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Graduation Dinner for M.D. 2019
Providence Marriott, One Orms Street
An evening to honor Medical School faculty, residents, staff, and family members—this dinner is a wonderful event for graduates and their families. Each graduate attending will receive a complimentary ticket, and may purchase additional tickets for family members and friends. Tickets will go on sale in mid-April.

No later than 8:30 a.m., all medical school degree recipients, dressed in cap and gown, should report to the Marcus Aurelius statue behind Sayles Hall for the class photograph.

9:15 a.m.
Medical School Commencement Procession
Faunce House, Waterman Street
The Medical School Procession will line up by 9:15 a.m. in front of the Faunce Arch on Waterman Street, facing west, extending from Faunce House back toward Thayer Street, and will step off at approximately 9:45 a.m. The Medical School Procession marches down to the First Unitarian Church, where the Medical School Ceremony and awarding of degrees takes place. Alumni are welcome to march (academic regalia required) and attend the ceremony.

10:15 a.m.
Medical School Commencement Ceremony and Awarding of Degrees
First Unitarian Church, corner of Benefit and Benevolent streets
The Medical School Ceremony will begin at approximately 10:15 a.m. at the First Unitarian Church, and the doors will open at 9:15 a.m. for general seating. Dr. Jack A. Elias, senior vice president for health affairs and dean of medicine and biological sciences, will preside. Immediately following the medical school ceremony, a post-graduation reception for the medical school faculty, graduates and their families, will be held at the Hope Club — across the street from the First Unitarian Church.
