The Graduate School Deans
Located within the Office of the Provost, the Graduate School deans provide assistance with academic and personal concerns, advocacy help, and fellowships.
Global Brown represents all of the offices at Brown that support the global mobility of the Brown community to various corners of the globe, and the mobility of international students, scholars, and visitors to the Brown campus. Global Brown is comprised of the following offices:
Located within the Office of the Provost, the Graduate School deans provide assistance with academic and personal concerns, advocacy help, and fellowships.
Located within the Office of the Dean of the College, the OIP is responsible for the management of study abroad opportunities for Brown undergraduates. We also work with students from other institutions who are interested in studying abroad on a Brown-sponsored program.
Located within the Office of the Provost, OGE supports and coordinates Global Brown and Brown University's international and transnational activities both on campus and abroad. OGE is responsible for developing and implementing Brown’s international strategy to ensure that our global engagement advances the mission of the University and its strategic plan Building on Distinction. OGE also manages the process for developing partnerships with international institutions, Brown’s international rankings, international travel safety and security, and international visitors and visiting delegations to campus.
Located within the Office of the Vice President for General Counsel, the OISSS provides advising services with respect to immigration and visa matters, work permission, cultural adjustment, and personal concerns.
Located within the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life, Global Brown Center for International Students coordinates international orientation with IMP, offers resources and support for internationally-focused student organizations, provides social and cultural programming, and advocates for the international student community at Brown.
Located within the Office of the Dean of the College in the Sheridan Center, the ELL team offers language and culture workshops and individual appointments for students who first language is not English. They also coordinates the Conversation Partners Program, which pairs staff with students who desire to improve their English.
