Baseball in Rhode Island has a handful of different playing levels that allow opportunities for every skill level. Little League has an age based system to keep kids in the appropriate division based on age: Tee Ball division (4 to 6), Coach Pitch division (7 to 9), Kid Pitch or Minors (9 to 10), Majors (10 to 12), Junior (13 to 14), then Senior Division (15 to 16). Little League and Cal Ripken are recreation leagues, so they are typically for the average to above average player looking to play a spring sport. Most teams in the junior, middle and senior divisions typically play 2 to 3 games a week and the tee ball players meet 2 times a week for skills building and mini games.
