Hassenfeld Researchers Publish Article on Pediatric ED Use

Led by data analyst Lauren Schlichting, a team of researchers from the Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute has just published an article in Academic Emergency Medicine entitled "Pediatric Emergency Department Utilization and Reliance by Insurance Coverage in the United States." Using data from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), they find that health insurance coverage was associated with children's overall emergency department use, repeat use, and reliance on the emergency department for health care.
