Alpert Medical School in Haiti

Since the January 12, 2010 earthquake, Brown faculty members have completed two fact-finding and relationship-building trips to various Haitian medical facilities.

On July 7, 2010, Michael Koster, MD, shared information concerning Brown's past and on-going efforts to promote medical education in Haiti.

Dean Edward Wing led a group of Brown medical educators on a visit to Haiti, Oct. 13-15, 2010.

After deliberating with the Haitian faculty of St. Damien Hospital, Brown developed the Medical Education and Leadership Development Project (MELD), a program to address Haitian medical students' need for more pediatric education and in-country pediatric rotations.
