John-Clark Levin is a writer with a degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. He is the author, with John J. Pitney, Jr., of Private Anti-Piracy Navies: How Warships for Hire are Changing Maritime Security (Lexington Books, 2013) now out in paperback edition. He has written on maritime security for publications including the Wall Street Journal and Southern Economic Journal and has lectured at institutions including Georgetown University, the Foreign Policy Initiative, and the U.S. Naval War College.
