Karona Monica Mason, class of 1982

Dr. Karona Mason grew up in Washington, D.C. She was born to a mother who worked for the federal government and a father who was the Director of Printing and Reproduction for Howard University. Neither attended college. She entered Brown University in 1978 as a biology concentrator and later graduated in 1982 with her A.B. She went on to earn an MA in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University and a DPM from Temple College of Podiatric Medicine. She has served as a board member to the National Podiatric Medical Association and worked in Texas and Chicago. Mason continues to perform surgery while also serving as Associate Dean of Clinical Experiences at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.
