Katherine Virginia Faulkner, class of 1936

Katherine Virginia Faulkner was born in Hendrickson, North Carolina as the youngest of nine children. Convinced by her brother, she entered Pembroke College in the early 1930s. While at Pembroke she dedicated herself to promoting peace. Following graduation Faulkner moved to Brooklyn with her husband and volunteered with the Junior League, and the New York Infirmary for Women and Children. After her husband’s early death she worked at Sarah Lawrence, Pace University, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and finally Pepsi Co.  She married a second time and died on February 21, 2002.
