Ryan Segur, class of 2017

Ryan Segur was born into a Navy family in Slidell, Louisiana. As a result of their parent’s service, they lived in Louisiana, Mississippi, Washington, DC, and Nebraska, before attending Brown University. Segur entered Brown in 2013. They participated in the Third World Transition Program, Queer Alliance, and Connected for Health, and served as president of Queer People and Allies for the Advancement of Medicine for two years. They graduated in 2017 with an Sc.B. in neuroscience and entered a fifth-year master’s program in the Alpert Medical School. Generally speaking, under Don Operario, Segur studies the non-binary trans community and mental health.
