In Case You Missed It: A new resource is now available to analyze biomedical research citations. The collection contains more than 420 million citation links from Medline, PubMed Central, Entrez, CrossRef, and other unrestricted, open-access data sets.

The collection is available via the NIH webtool, iCite. which allows users to access, visualize, and bulk download the data. Users can also access bibliometric tools, look at productivity of research, and see how often references are cited

This information provides a better glimpse into relationships between basic and applied research, how a researchers’ works are cited, and ways to make large-scale analyses of citation metrics easier and free.
