Drs. Colby and Denlinger-Apte Co-Chair SRNT Conference

Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and Behavioral and Social Sciences, Dr. Suzanne Colby, along with Brown University, Deparment of Behavioral and Social Sciences PhD Alumni, Dr. Rachel Denlinger-Apte, recently co-chaired a virtual conference for the Society of Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT) entitled "E-Cigarettes and Health Equity".

The goal of this event was to advance the discussion of e-cigarette regulatory policy by considering the impact of policies through the lens of health disparities and health equity. Whereas analyses and reviews have mostly focused on the impact of e-cigarettes and related policies on either smoking cessation among adults or initiation among youth in the general population, less attention has been directed to how products and policies serve to reduce or exacerbate tobacco-related health disparities.
