Dr. Cioe Publishes in Three Journals

In January, Dr. Patricia Cioe was first author for the manuscript, "Personalized feedback improves cardiovascular risk perception and physical activity levels in persons with HIV: results of a pilot randomized clinical trial" in AIDS Care Journal. This manuscript published findings from a study in people with HIV in a randomized trial that demonstrated that providing personalized feedback about level of risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) was associated with increased perceived risk for CVD and increased levels of physical activity in participants.

In February, Dr. Cioe was published in the Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (JANAC) for, "A Review of Chronic Comorbidities in Adults Living With HIV" and in Nicotine and Tobacco Research for, "COVID-19 Challenges Confronted by Smoking Cessation Clinical Trials for People Living with HIV: The Experience of Grantees of the United States National Cancer Institute."

Her co-authored publication in Nicotine and Tobacco focused on the challenges faced by grantees of the National Cancer Institute, while conducting smoking cessation trials in people living with HIV and in the paper described the procedural, analytic/statistical, and financial/administrative challenges they encountered due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
