Dr. Stevens Published in Psychology of Addictive Behaviors

Dr. Angela Stevens recently published a paper that qualitatively characterized young adults' intentions and willingness for heavy drinking. Her manuscript, "A qualitative examination of intentions and willingness for heavy drinking among young adult high-intensity drinkers" was published in Psychology of Addictive Behaviors with co-authors, Holly Boyle and Drs. Miller, Carey, Jackson, Barnett, and Merrill.

Key findings from this research showed that future studies assessing intentions and willingness to drink should assess (1) intentions/willingness for level of intoxication (not just number of drinks) and (2) intentions/willingness multiple times per day, as young adults perceived their intentions and willingness to drink shift across the day and even during the drinking event itself.
