Dr. Scott recently published a manuscript titled, "Implementation support for contingency management: preferences of opioid treatment program leaders and staff" in Implementation Science Communications. Co-authors included CAAS Faculty Drs. Sara Becker and Cara Murphy along with current and former CAAS Research Assistants Shelly Jarman, Samantha Moul, Kimberly Yap, and RTI International collaborator Dr. Bryan Garner.

This study was funded by the COBRE on Opioids and Overdose and employed a user-centered approach to evaluate opioid treatment provider preferences for training and ongoing support in contingency management. Their study found that opioid treatment providers wanted contingency management training that incorporated active learning strategies, ongoing performance feedback from supervisors and external experts, and frequent supervision/external facilitation meetings. This study provides both an exemplar of a user-centered approach to evaluating provider preferences and guidance regarding changes to be made to the implementation strategy for scaling up contingency management in opioid treatment settings.
