New Research Assistant Joins CAAS

Dr. Patricia Cioe and her study team are excited to welcome their new Research Assistant, Sophie Lazar, to CAAS! Sophie will be working with Dr. Cioe and team on Project PNAV, a peer navigator model to improve quit attempts and smoking cessation rates among HIV-positive smokers, and the SREC study.

Sophie Lazar is a first-year Master’s of Public Health student at the Brown University School of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. Prior to attending Brown, she worked for three years as a Project Coordinator at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to Ukraine in 2016-2017 and an Open Society Foundation Fellowship to Kyrgyzstan in 2015-2016. She received her B.A. in Anthropology and dance from Bard College in 2015
