Dr. Cioe Election to Board of Directors and Presented at ANAC

Dr. Patricia Cioe, Associate Professor in the Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences, was an invited speaker at the Annual Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) conference in Washington DC, being held November 10-13, 2021. At the ANAC conference on November 11, 2021 Dr. Cioe presented, "Kicking the Habit: Innovative Interventions for Smoking Cessation in People with HIV Who Smoke" discussing her recent and ongoing work in this area.

The theme of ANAC 2021 is Year of the Nurse: A Call to Action. The conference aims to highlight the valiant contributions nurses have made to HIV prevention and treatment, COVID-19 responses and overall healthcare, during a pandemic. Other topics include the national Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America, racism and healthcare disparities and the impact of COVID-19 in our communities."

In addition to presenting at the annual ANAC conference, Dr. Cioe was elected to the national Association of Nurses in AIDS Care Board of Directors for a 3 year term!
