Brown CAAS Team published in Drug and Alcohol Dependence

Drs. Rachel Gunn, Kristina Jackson, Alexander Sokolovsky, Angela Stevens, and Jane Metrik recently published a manuscript examining the effects of substance use ordering on consumption during alcohol and cannabis co-use days.

Dr. Murphy Published in Appetite

Dr. Cara Murphy is the second author of "Multidimensional elements of impulsivity as shared and unique risk factors for food addiction and alcohol misuse" published in Appetite. 

This research suggests that both alcohol and food misuse are characterized by overlapping risk factors, particularly in trait impulsivity.

Jasjit S Ahluwalia, MD, MPH, MS, professor of behavioral and social sciences and medicine, was invited to serve on FDLI’s 2021 Tobacco and Nicotine Products Committee on December 22nd, 2020! The Food and Drug Law Institute is a Think Tank in DC that works with the FDA.

Dr. Goodyear Chavanne receives Research Enhancement Action Fund

Dr. Kimberly Goodyear Chavanne received the Research Enhancement Action Fund (REAF) for her study to examine, "Understanding the impact of race on public attitudes toward individuals and communities with opioid addiction."

REAF is the Research Enhancement Action Fund from the Center of Alcohol and Addiction Studies that aims to support data-driven projects aimed to address health disparities and social injustice in alcohol and other drug use and its consequences among minority populations.
