Dr. Damaris Rohsenow has been elected a Fellow of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco, the organization that is the world leader in developing and disseminating new advances and knowledge about nicotine and tobacco. The new Fellows will be announced at the March 2020 Annual Meeting of the organization.
Dr. Rosemarie Martin has given multiple national presentations to the U.S. Department of Justice and at several national conferences. She presented about treating OUD in jails and prisons, the paradigm shift in the treatment of addiction in the criminal justice system, and the transition into the community after MAT in the correctional setting.
Dr. Patricia Cioe attended the 32nd Annual Association of Nurses in AIDS Care Conference in Portland, OR on November 7-9, and was interviewed by a reporter who covers Infectious Diseases conferences as one of only fifteen PI's being interviewed about their abstracts/work. Dr. Cioe presented an oral abstract titled, "An Open Pilot to Examine the Acceptability and Health Effects of Electronic Cigarettes in HIV-positive Smokers".
Dr. Rachel Gunn received a 5-year K08 titled, "Ambulatory Assessment of Simultaneous Alcohol and Marijuana Use: Impact on Alcohol Use and Consequences". This study will examine the impact of co-use of alcohol and marijuana on alcohol consumption and consequences in the natural environment using alcohol biosensors.
