What is an Orientation?

An "Orientation" is required for some classes.

If you are registered for, or are considering taking Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), or MBSR2, or Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, (MBCT),  and well as some of our other classes, you will need to attend a required orientation.

If a class has a required Orientation, the time for the Orientation will be included in the description of the class, on the web site.

Orientations are about one specific class. They are a chance to learn about that class, including what to expect and if the class if right for you. You will have a chance to speak one-on-one with a teacher to discuss the class.

When you attend an Orientation, you will get to know if a class is a good fit for you at this time. If you and the teacher agree this class might not be right at this time, the teacher can suggest other classes or other opportunities.

Orientations are a great opportunity to learn deeply about what to expect and what you can get out of attending a class.

Please check the web site description of classes you are interested in to see if there is a required orientation.

PLEASE NOTE: An “Orientation” is different from an “Information Session.” Orientations are for specific classes and are required. An Information Session is not required and is an introduction to all the classes being offered. Learn more about Information Sessions here
