Biography

Serving as the Associate Director for the Mindfulness Center at Brown University, Dianne Horgan melds her professional experience as an organizational leader and manager with her strong interest and education in psychology and human development, and her meditation and mindfulness practice of more than twenty-five years.

Dianne’s professional career highlights include working in both for and non-profit organizations including as Chief of Operations, UMASS Center for Mindfulness where she oversaw all financial, operational, human resource and strategic issues. She also was the Executive Director at the Insight Meditation Society that delivered day and multi-day residential mindfulness programs. Her executive experience also includes positions as Director of Finance and Resource Management, WGBH Educational Foundation (Public Television and Radio), Development and Membership Divisions; Director of Administration, Bowditch & Dewey; and Director of Human Resources, Limbach, Inc. Her higher education experience includes her position as Director of Graduate Admissions, WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institute). 

Throughout her life, Dianne has been involved in social and community issues. She co-created the President’s Steering Committee on Diversity and co-chaired the Sustainability Committee at WGBH. In 1985 she was honored at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta for her work with African Americans; and won the 1997 Woman of Distinction Award by the Montachusett Girl Scouts. Additional community involvement includes serving on the Boards of the Insight Foundation and the Dharma Vihara Foundation.
