Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)

The IACUC is a group of faculty, veterinarians, staff, and community members appointed by the Vice President of Research to evaluate and oversee animal use in research at Brown University. Live vertebrate animal use must be approved by the IACUC. The Animal Research Compliance team (ARC, sometimes called the “IACUC Office”) is the office that supports the IACUC at Brown University and administers the animal research program.
