What?

The InfoEd Lab Animals (LA) module is the new web based animal protocol submission system that  will replace Coeus and become the system of record for all animal protocols at  Brown.  The LA module was designed and configured to reduce administrative burden.

       Features include:

  • Simplified online forms for new protocols, renewals, administrative changes, amendments, and continuations
  • A single up-to-date protocol record that incorporates all administrative changes and amendments into the protocol itself (not as attachments), so you’re always viewing the approved version of the protocol
  • Streamlined user experience with intuitive forms, browsing, and dashboard capabilities
  • Automated routing of protocol submissions and changes during the review process
  • Integrated review comment feature within the protocol form, making it easier to locate and respond to reviewers’ requests for changes
  • The ability to submit an administrative change and amendment simultaneously for review and approval
  • Automated notifications for required actions

When?

The LA module will go live on July 16th

Important Dates:

  • June 15-July 13:  Active protocols will be migrated from Coeus to InfoEd

  • All new protocols initiated during the June 15-July 13 time period must be created in InfoEd

We encourage anyone working directly on active Lab Animal protocols in Coeus to participate in this transfer.

  • Request your session time(s) here if you will be migrating your protocol during this time period.

  • If you are unable to convert your active protocol(s), ARPP will do so for you. The Principal Investigator will be notified when an active protocol record(s) is migrated and will be required to review the protocol before it can be finalized in InfoEd.

Note:  After the protocol record is migrated, all future protocol actions (administrative changes, amendments, or continuations) must be done in InfoEd

Why?

Brown University chose InfoEd as its new electronic platform for research administration and compliance. InfoEd provides a fully-integrated system that manages the "administrative work" involved in research.
