Coeus users who are on a Mac computer may get an error message when attempting to open or install an application, such as Coeus, that was not downloaded from the App store.

The first time you download the Coeus application on a Mac, the application may be blocked and a warning message appears ‘coeus.jnlp cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer’.

There are steps to address this Mac warning message when opening or installing Coeus:

1)     Navigate to System Preferences and select Security & Privacy

2)     On the General tab of the Security & Privacy screen, you will see a message that reads ‘“coeus.jnlp” was blocked from use because it was not from an identified developer.’

a.     To the right of this message click the button that reads ‘Open Away”.

b.     A pop up message will appear that reads “macOS cannot verify the developer of “coeus.jnlp”.  Are you sure you want to open it?’.  Click Open.

You should now be able to download the Coeus application.  Always use the 'Launch Coeus Premium' link on this web page to launch Coeus (not a desktop icon or anything already on your desktop).

Note:  The same steps will need to be followed each time you log out and back into Coeus on your Mac.  The authorization steps above are ‘per file’ so users will need to follow these steps for each downloaded copy of Coeus.
