Dawn Kimbrel, Registrar
Dawn Kimbrel serves as Registrar and has overall responsibility for collections documentation, coordination of acquisitions, loans, collections storage, transport, preventive conservation, and support of exhibits and research. Dawn brings professional experience from the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and, most recently, the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming to Brown. As Editor for the Collections Care Network Committee, American Institute for Conservation, she contributes to the ongoing efforts to create awareness of preventive care in institutions of all types. Interests include museum history, direct care of cultural heritage, placemaking, and community engagement through interdisciplinary partnerships. She holds a Master’s degrees in English (cultural linguistics) from Indiana University, Bloomington and in Museum Studies from Harvard University.
