The Dawson Lab is recruiting graduate students for Fall 2017. Students admitted to Brown University are welcome to contact Dr. Dawson for project information.
The Dawson Lab is recruiting undergraduate students from multiple disciplines including MPPB, MCB, and BME. Students must be willing to commit to two or more semesters of research. Only undergraduate students with a GPA of 3.3 or above will be considered. Applicants must be self-motivated, hard-working students with a strong appreciation for quantitative biology, cell culture, and microscopy.
The Dawson Lab also has an opening for a research associate. Applicants with relevant research experience at the post-baccalaureate or post-doctoral level will be considered.
For all positions, applicants with molecular biology, cell culture, or microscopy experience are preferred. General techniques in the Dawson lab include:
- DNA and RNA purification
- Reverse transcriptase PCR
- DNA and protein gel electrophoresis
- Molecular cloning
- Mammallan cell culture
- Viral and non-viral transfection studies
- Multiple particle tracking
- Image analysis
- Animal studies
