Giving to the Pembroke Center

Many loyal alumnae/i, parents, and friends choose to support the Pembroke Center Associates each year. In addition, the Center is grateful for support of campaign and legacy gifts that help sustain future research.

Building a Legacy for the Pembroke Center

Alumnae/i choose to support the Pembroke Center through a variety of planned giving options. Bequests, gift annuities, IRA rollovers, real estate, and trusts are all tools that can be used to support the Pembroke Center for generations to come.

The Pembroke Center's postdoctoral fellowships offer recent PhD graduates a one-year appointment. Postdocs have been a mainstay of the Center's research and teaching enterprise since its inception in 1981.

Fellows invigorate the undergraduate curriculum by teaching courses of their own design, participate in the Pembroke Center Research Seminar—benefitting from the Center’s intellectual community, and develop professionally through faculty mentorship and research and conference funding. Former fellows bring the critical lens of gender and sexuality gleaned at the Center to their careers as scholars, writers, artists, activists and journalists.

As part of the BrownTogether campaign, the Pembroke Center aims to raise $3 million to support these scholars and enhance resources for their important research.
