Information for Families

Thank you for your interest in RI-CART. You’re joining an ever-growing number of people in Rhode Island and nearby communities who have already come together to move ahead with autism. Working together, we can achieve our mission of advancing treatment and improving the quality of life for people on the autism spectrum.

Our goal is to connect as many individuals and families impacted by autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders with research studies and resources. We know that there is no one face to autism. That is why we are focused on engaging individuals of all ages, socio-economic groups, races and religions to contribute their voices and stories. This broad reach allows us to gain a comprehensive, “big picture” view of autism in Rhode Island and makes innovative, integrated research possible.

We strive to learn about autism, as well as to learn from those with ASD. Many of those affected by autism will benefit from supports and treatments. But we also learn from the strengths of individuals with autism.

But we are about more than research alone. While we are building a community that can move science forward, we are also bringing a voice of advocacy to thousands of Rhode Islanders to create a supportive community that can connect all of our participants with the resources they need.
