Postdoctoral researcher Jitka Bečanová from the University of Rhode Island (URI) SRP received a 2018 K.C. Donnelly externship to collaborate with SRP researchers at Brown.
Jitka has been working with advisor Rainer Lohmann at URI on new technologies for passive sampling of PFAS compounds in the environment. With this externship, she will visit and collaborate with the laboratory of Robert Hurt at Brown on graphene-based porous materials as engineered capture and release mediators for these passive samplers. The materials will be designed and synthesized at Brown, laboratory tested at URI, and field tested at sites in New England.
Congratulations, Jitka!
