The 22nd Annual Harriet W. Sheridan Literature and Medicine Lecture

Dr. Rivka Galchen will present “The Accidental Poetry of Medicine.” Dr. Galchen is a fiction writer and essayist who publishes regularly in The New Yorker, Harper’s, and The New York Times. Having completed her MD at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2003, she has since worked full time as a writer and teacher, publishing a novel, Atmospheric Disturbances, in 2008, and a short story collection, American Innovations, this past May. The Sheridan Lecture features distinguished writer and literary scholars to foster a reflective dialogue with the community about the illness experience. Reception to follow.
