Setting clear standards for grading is an important element of effective communication of expectations for student learning. In this lecture, we will explore rubrics and other assessment techniques. Profs. Luther Spoehr (Education), Maureen Sigler (Insight Education) and Monica Linden (Neuroscience) will discuss the goals and roles of assessment in student learning.

Participants will learn about planning classes, engaging students in the classroom, approaches for gauging what their students are learning, and using student feedback to become more effective instructors.
