How I Promote Deep Learning with Asynchronous Discussions

Curious how you can help your students engage with course content more deeply or perhaps practice new skills and reflect on their performance to grow? Join this Sheridan Center virtual roundtable to learn how well designed asynchronous discussions can promote deep learning strategies in a variety of course contexts including large courses. Panelists Ruth Colwill (Cognitive, Linguistic & Psychological Sciences) and Jose Itzigsohn (Sociology) will share how they used asynchronous discussions in their courses over the last year and why they plan to continue to use them going forward. John de Szendeffy from the Sheridan Center’s Digital Learning and Design team will also share some key resources and tools for implementing asynchronous discussions in your courses or recitation sections.
