Implementing Writing Groups to Cultivate a Community of Writers in Your Classroom

Sciences Library, Room 520

Interested in learning how to engage the student writers in your classroom, how to provide writers with intermediate feedback without having to spend additional hours reading and responding yourself?

Research shows that students who participate in peer response groups not only produce better writing but also demonstrate improved self-evaluative capabilities, a more nuanced understanding of audience, increased motivation and decreased anxiety surrounding writing tasks, and also demonstrate more positive attitudes toward writing generally.

Join the Associate Director of the Writing Center on Friday, February 16th in room 520 in the Sciences Library to learn about best practices and concrete tools to implement writing groups in your own classroom.
