Online and Hybrid Teaching with Primary Sources

During this time of online and hybrid instruction, the John Hay Library continues to offer invaluable experiences for students to engage with primary sources, including interactive class sessions, mentoring for individual research and creative projects, and fellowships and proctorships. Join Amanda Strauss (Associate University Librarian for Special Collections), Heather Cole (Head of Instruction and Curator for Literary and Popular Culture Collections), and Holly Shaffer (History of Art and Architecture) to hear about new initiatives and opportunities at the Library. This roundtable will highlight a new study about how instructors can use the Library as a laboratory in which students can build skills central to the Brown experience, and Professor Shaffer will offer considerations for other instructors, gained from experience in her “Food and Art in the Early Modern World” course.
