This workshop, led by Sheridan Center Assistant Director Marc Lo, introduces strategies for engaging students during the first days of class. We will discuss techniques for fostering enthusiasm for course content, activities for gauging student learning, and explore ways to use feedback and reflection to become a more effective instructor. Ample time will be provided to discuss your teaching-related questions. This workshop is appropriate for faculty and postdocs who are new to teaching at Brown, as well as graduate students who are teaching their own course for the first time. Refreshments will be provided beginning at 2:45pm.
