In this presentation, Professor of Physics James (Jim) Valles will describe his own teaching journey to align the the large physics course, Analytical Mechanics (Physics 70), with inclusive and anti-racist pedagogy. Borrowing from the work of Kyoko Kishimoto (2016), Jim will describe characteristics of an anti-racist course and modifications he made to better align Physics 70 with these characteristics, such as changes to assessments and learning activities.
