Xiaorui holds a PhD in Innovative Learning Design & Technology and M.Ed. in Educational Research and Evaluation from Ohio University. She also holds an M.A. in English Language and Literature with a focus on Second Language Acquisition and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Prior to joining Brown University, she worked as a teacher educator and taught in higher education in both China and the United States. She has collaborated with multiple multicultural and international stakeholders on inclusive teaching. Her interests are effective digital learning design in hybrid and online environments, and teacher education with an emphasis on technology integration.
