Through award-winning stories and images in print and online, the Brown Alumni Magazinekeeps alumni connected to one another and to the University.

The BAM accepts ideas from the Brown community for news that would be of interest to its alumni audience, with a particular focus on stories that demonstrate how a Brown education is making a broad or deep impact to a community, the nation, or the world; examples of exceptional or truly unique alumni accomplishments (most awards, professional recognition and professional promotions are typically reserved for Class Notes); alumni who are challenging conventional thinking; and alumni with life experiences that may enlighten or teach other alumni who may be sharing the same experience.

Situated within Brown's Office of University Communications, the BAM frequently contributes stories of broad interest to the office's overall news operation. In print since 1900 and online since the early 1990s, the magazine is an integral part of Brown's engagement with external audiences.
