Historically, Brown's particular strength among its peers has been the quality of undergraduate education provided here. At Brown the phrase "university-college" has real meaning and defines us as an institution that is neither solely a research university nor a liberal arts college. Brown among top schools for producing fulbright students

Brown ranks number three in the nation among colleges and universities in the number of successful Fulbright applicants it produces. Twenty-five of Brown’s 69 undergraduate and graduate student applicants were named Fulbright Fellows in 2007-08, giving Brown the top-ranked success rate in the Ivy League. Brown also ranks first in the Ivy League for the most undergraduates receiving Fulbright awards. [More]

Brown Launches First-of-its-Kind Program in Barcelona

The Consortium for Advanced Studies in Barcelona, a collaborative initiative involving Brown, University of Chicago, Northwestern, Cornell, Harvard and Princeton, begins its inaugural year September 2007. As the first fully integrated higher education program in Barcelona, students will enroll directly in regular university classes at three distinguished Spanish universities. [More]
