But a coalition of Brown students and faculty has teamed up with alumni, local merchants and politicians to prevent Brown from leasing the store to an outside business. This wire service article was distributed nationwide to member media.

Opponents of 'academic bill of rights' form a coalition to fight it
Ten student, faculty, and civil-liberties groups have banded together to fight the “academic bill of rights” in a more organized fashion, the groups’ officials plan to announce today. Members of the coalition, which is calling itself Free Exchange on Campus, take aim at David Horowitz, the conservative activist, and at his self-styled bill of rights, a proposal that he says aims to make college campuses more intellectually diverse and to protect them from being “indoctrinated” by “political propagandists in the classroom.”
