As in previous seasons,
all drawings of the stratigraphy and site plans have been inked by Ala
H. Bedawi, our assistant draftsperson. They have been scanned by Lee Payne
into computers at Brown University's Scholarly Technology Group headquarters,
and are prepared for site use in the following year. These total some
250 images of the site stratigraphy.
Thousands of data
files are also under scrutiny using Fox Base Pro data base. Leigh-Ann
Bedal spent four months at the nuclear reactor at the University of Missouri
at Columbia, Missouri analyzing the Petra ceramics' fingerprints by using
neutron activation analysis (NAA). A manuscript has been prepared and
these results will be forthcoming in 1999.
