These are some ideas/focus points that have come up whilst I have been thinking about this project and where I want to take it:

• The fact that I am undertaking an archaeology of the building that is becoming the new archaeology centre- if Rhode Island Hall was going to be the new English Department, would there be the same interest in exploring the living history of the building? Archaeologists are going to be the ones moving into the renovated building after all interior traces of its previous history have been erased. Archaeologists themselves are going to be an integral part of the building's evolving story. How does this affect my study?

• The fact that the plans and the beginning of the renovation are being carried out whilst the building is still in use. This is not an abandonment study, as I am investigating a functioning building, however the abandonment of it by the various current users is imminent. There is an interesting crossover of current use and anticipated use during this semester.
